About the role#
As a Tax Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by assisting with tax assignments across various industries, including real estate, construction, healthcare, and manufacturing. This role involves participating in client projects from start to finish while developing your technical knowledge of tax compliance.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
- Assist with IRS audits, tax notice responses, trust returns, and gift and estate filings.
- Help plan tax assignments and contribute to project workflows.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with client staff to support their goals.
- Provide attentive service to clients while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional standards.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels of an organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and related technical software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, think independently, and solve problems.
- Strong analytical, research, and project management skills.
- A Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred.
- Experience in student organizations or prior accounting work is a plus.

- This position is based in Bakersfield, California.
- This is an on-site, paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
