About the role#
This is a 10-week, full-time Data Scientist internship scheduled for Summer 2027. The role begins in June and concludes in August. You will support energy efficiency and load management programs for utilities. This is a paid position.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and enhance predictive analytics models.
- Apply statistical and computational methodologies.
- Integrate analyses into supporting IT systems.
- Analyze large datasets related to customer behavior, energy usage, and marketing performance.
- Identify techniques, develop and execute code, validate outputs, and write technical reports.
What you'll need#
- Completed bachelor’s degree plus enrollment verification or 9 credit hours complete in a Master’s degree program in data science or a similar discipline.
- Ability to pass required background checks, which may include drug screening.
- Proficiency in R or Python, statistical modeling, data manipulation, and visualization is preferred.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying relational databases.
- Understanding of predictive modeling techniques and machine learning algorithms.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git, Docker, and Microsoft Azure services.
- Experience with large-scale datasets and energy or environmental analytics is a plus.
- Completion of a Master’s degree or enrollment in a Doctoral program in data science or a similar discipline is preferred.
Location & details#
- You may work remotely from any location in the U.S. or in a hybrid capacity from our offices in Reston, Virginia, or Denver, Colorado.
- All work must be performed in the U.S. per contract requirements.
