About the role#
We are hiring interns for Program Operations, Program Delivery, and Program Outreach to support energy efficiency initiatives within our Utility, Programs and Services division. This 10-week, full-time internship begins in early June 2027. You will gain hands-on experience by collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to project deliverables, and deepening your understanding of utility-sponsored programs and energy-efficient technologies.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate program activities, events, and tasks while maintaining schedules, meeting minutes, and documentation.
- Conduct market research and analyze data regarding trends, customer segments, and competitive landscapes.
- Evaluate market potential, growth opportunities, and trade ally networks.
- Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, and Engineering teams to develop outreach and customer targeting strategies.
- Develop client presentations and communicate program results to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support field-based staff and track contractor enrollment.
- Review program processes to recommend efficiency improvements.
- Assist technical teams with QA/QC standards and the review of technical specifications.
- Clarify and resolve concerns from customers, contractors, and consultants.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours by the start date.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Project Management, Energy Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with research, data collection, program coordination, or sales planning.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Work Authorization.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Power Query, or VBA is preferred.
- Interest in energy efficiency and familiarity with HVAC, lighting, or heating technologies is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position based in Tempe, Arizona, or New Mexico.
- This internship is paid at $23 per hour for undergraduate students and $28 per hour for graduate students.
- We are unable to provide relocation or housing assistance for this role.
