About the role#
We are hiring interns for Program Operations, Program Delivery, and Program Outreach to support energy efficiency initiatives within our Utility, Programs and Services division. This 10-week, full-time internship begins in early June 2027. You will gain hands-on experience by collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to project deliverables, and deepening your understanding of utility-sponsored programs.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate the execution of program activities, events, and tasks.
- Conduct research on market trends, competitive landscapes, and energy efficiency equipment.
- Evaluate market potential and growth opportunities for distributor and contractor networks.
- Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, and Engineering teams to develop outreach and customer targeting strategies.
- Prepare reports, meeting minutes, and program documentation.
- Present actionable recommendations based on research and data analysis.
- Support field-based staff and communicate with participating contractors, customers, and consultants.
- Review program processes to recommend efficiency improvements.
- Assist technical teams in meeting quality assurance standards and tracking contractor enrollment.
- Prepare and review technical specifications for energy efficiency projects.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours.
- Background in Business Administration, Economics, Project Management, Energy Management, or a related field.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Work Authorization.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
- Strong organizational, time management, and task prioritization skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with research, data collection, or program coordination.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools like Power BI, Power Query, or VBA is preferred.
- Interest in energy efficiency and sales strategy.
- Completed bachelor’s degree or 9 graduate credits preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Lansing, Michigan.
- The role offers remote and hybrid work options.
- We prefer candidates located in Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, or Wisconsin for occasional in-person team engagement.
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
