About the role#
Milliman’s CMH Health Products team is looking for interns to join us for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on software and Generative AI applications that support our healthcare products and client services. This is a part-time, paid role where you will contribute to real-world technical projects while working alongside engineers, analysts, and domain experts.
What you'll do#
- Develop software and GenAI agents to automate internal processes.
- Act as an owner for feature and product requests from start to finish.
- Perform rigorous self-QA on your work.
- Learn the healthcare business context behind your code.
- Participate in code reviews and implement feedback.
- Design and maintain documentation for features and user workflows.
- Assist with product testing, performance tuning, and bug resolution.
- Contribute to team discussions regarding technical design and product direction.
- Engage in the strategic promotion of new products.
What you'll need#
- You are a current undergraduate or graduate student.
- We prefer majors in Mathematics or Computer Science, but we welcome students from Philosophy, Art, Psychology, or Biology who show a strong aptitude for software development.
- You have experience with software and AI development, including side projects.
- You are familiar with tools like GitHub CoPilot, Claude Code, or Codex.
- You possess analytical skills, organizational mastery, and clear communication.
- You work well independently and are comfortable with ambiguity.
- You demonstrate high curiosity, initiative, and a commitment to reliability.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in either Chicago, Illinois, or Brookfield, Wisconsin.
- The internship runs from January 2027 to June 2027.
- You will work part-time, up to 29 hours per week.
