About the role#
Milliman is hiring an Actuarial Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in our Chicago office. You will join the Life, Financial Services, or Life Technology Solutions practice. Interns work within either the Mergers and Acquisitions or the Financial Risk Management group to support client projects and risk analysis.
What you'll do#
- Participate in merger and acquisition projects, including valuation metrics, due diligence, and cash flow testing.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of modifying product features to reduce risk exposure.
- Design and execute scalable dynamic hedging programs.
- Price and develop new products for financial services companies.
- Develop and implement valuation solutions for applications such as Statutory VM-21 and GAAP LDTI.
- Build stochastic models for hedging and actuarial valuations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Statistics.
- Completion of at least one Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam.
- A strong quantitative background with experience in actuarial modeling.
- Understanding of capital markets and modern finance concepts.
- Proficiency in Excel and VBA.
