About the role#
Milliman is seeking motivated students for the Summer 2027 Actuarial Internship within the CMH Health Practice. This full-time, paid internship offers practical experience in a consulting environment. Interns will work alongside industry experts on real-world assignments, including pricing, financial projections, and model development. The role provides mentorship from experienced actuaries and exposure to various actuarial functions such as experience studies, valuation, and forecasting.
What you'll do#
- Perform data analysis using Excel, VBA, SAS, and Python to support healthcare consulting segments.
- Participate in consulting activities including pricing, reserving, financial projections, and model development.
- Review the work of peers and assist with research and product development.
- Coordinate with project teams, including consultants and managers, to present client reports and deliverables.
- Analyze data, complete actuarial calculations, and implement software solutions.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field.
- At least one actuarial exam passed.
- Junior standing is preferred, though sophomore standing is accepted.
- Good academic standing, with a 3.2 GPA or above preferred.
- Strong communication, time management, and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This position is on-site at least four days per week (Monday through Thursday).
- Available office locations include Chicago, Illinois; Brookfield, Wisconsin; and Windsor, Connecticut.
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
