About the role#
Milliman is seeking a summer intern for our Seattle healthcare practice. You will work with consulting actuaries to develop and use actuarial models for pricing and forecasting. This role provides an introduction to the healthcare actuarial field. You will be paired with a mentor to support your professional growth.
What you'll do#
- Analyze healthcare data and produce reports using spreadsheets and databases.
- Assist with research and marketing projects.
- Prepare presentations for Milliman staff and clients.
- Participate in training sessions with experienced actuaries and firm partners.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Successfully passed one or more Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams.
- Experience with Excel.
- Knowledge of database or statistical analysis languages like SQL, SAS, or R.
- Knowledge or training in a computer programming language.
- College GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Interest in an actuarial career and an aptitude for detail work.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Seattle, Washington.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12-week period between May and August).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: $23.00 - $46.00 per hour based on experience and skills.
