About the role#
The Mineral Land department manages the acquisition, disposition, and maintenance of subsurface assets. As a student, you will work with Contracts Analysts, Lease Administrators, and Land Information Technology teams. You will gain exposure to the daily operations of these groups and their management of subsurface asset agreements.
What you'll do#
- Learn the functions of the Mineral Land department, including negotiations, acquisitions, and land shared services.
- Build an understanding of lease and contract agreements by working with Area Contracts Analysts.
- Use the QBLM land system to manage databases containing subsurface, surface, joint venture, and well information.
- Review, clean up, and digitize files.
- Connect with other departments at Canadian Natural, such as Operations and Accounting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Petroleum Land Administration certificate, Land Analyst certificate, or Energy Asset Management diploma.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business or Management is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta (Head Office).
- Term: 4 months, starting May 2027.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position with benefits including time off during Christmas week and summer Fridays in July and August. Relocation assistance may be available.
