About the role#
This is a student work term for those interested in oil sands mining. You will join teams focused on mine technology, planning, operations projects, surveying, and tailings planning. This position offers hands-on experience in mine engineering across various project phases.
What you'll do#
- Support mine and tailings operations through performance monitoring and design work.
- Create designs for haul roads and tailings storage structures.
- Help with the budget process for mine operations.
- Conduct detailed scheduling to support mine and project execution plans.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Mining, Mineral, Geological, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Ability to meet physical and mental fitness requirements for the job.
- A valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening test.

- Terms: Summer 2027 and Fall 2027.
