About the role#
This 12-month internship offers an opportunity to work within our Technology and Innovation group. You will gain hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry, touching on production, optimization, recovery, and environmental projects. You will work alongside technical experts and external partners to assess new technologies and support innovation across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support through data analysis and assist with application preparation.
- Write reports on new technologies across various disciplines.
- Conduct preliminary assessments to determine the value, applicability, and business impact of new technologies.
- Execute small projects related to Technology and Innovation.
- Support collaboration with external organizations, including industry associations, research groups, and academic institutions.
- Assist with digital and AI initiatives, including data wrangling, SQL analysis, machine learning tasks, and Power BI dashboard development.
- Maintain and update project databases to ensure accurate tracking of innovation initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Chemical or Mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Experience with Power BI, Spotfire, SQL, or Python is an asset.
- A valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening test.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta.
- Term: 12 months, starting in May or September 2027.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days on and 2 days off.
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
