    About the role#

    This 12-month student position is based in Rainbow Lake, Alberta, beginning in January 2027. You will join a collaborative team to support the daily operations of the on-site laboratory, which analyzes plant and field data including gas, NGL, and oil samples. This role requires living in Rainbow Lake, where company housing is provided, and working a 4-3 shift.

    What you'll do#

    • Acquire plant and field samples for analysis.
    • Maintain laboratory equipment, files, data, procedures, and techniques.
    • Support engineering and field operations staff with reports, data analysis, and information.
    • Prioritize and manage high sample volumes while multitasking between different analyses.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Chemical Engineering Technology, Petroleum Engineering Technology, or Laboratory Technology undergraduate program at an accredited post-secondary institution.
    • Must be returning to full-time studies after the work term or be registered in an accredited co-op or internship program for the duration of the term.
    • A valid Canadian class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions.
    • Legal authorization to work in Canada full-time.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
    • A strong understanding of Oil and Gas analysis in a lab setting.
    • Ability to prioritize safety while working efficiently.
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Rainbow Lake, Alberta.
    • Term: 12 months, starting January 2027.
    • This is a safety-sensitive role requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the completion of pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessments.
    • Candidates must provide their own transportation to the field location.
