About the role#
This is a student engineering position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work within a collaborative team on projects while receiving mentorship and technical experience. Placements include roles in chemical, process, mechanical, and process control engineering. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside professionals to support our operations.
What you'll do#
Your specific responsibilities depend on your assigned department but may include:
- Manage the Risk Assessment process, including scribing and authentication.
- Complete P&ID reviews, MOC management, and daily technical support.
- Apply engineering theory to resolve safety, environmental, and integrity concerns.
- Complete engineering investigations and identify opportunities to reduce costs.
- Learn and apply basic codes and standards in mechanical and material engineering.
- Assist with process control and safety system initiatives.
- Support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Mechanical or Chemical undergraduate program at an accredited institution.
- You must be returning to full-time studies after the work term or be registered in a co-op or internship program.
- Candidates currently in a Master's or Ph.D. program may be considered.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada full-time.
- Availability to begin work in January 2027.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong critical thinking, data literacy, and communication skills.
- A results-oriented mindset with a focus on integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
