About the role#
Strathcona Resources Ltd. is hiring an Engineering Co-Op Student for the Production Engineering Cold Lake Team in Calgary. You will report to the Team Lead and support production engineering for Cold Lake SAGD assets. This role involves working with field operations and the asset team to optimize production rates, well design, reservoir efficiency, and equipment longevity while managing operating costs.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and report on area production volumes every day.
- Collaborate with field operations staff to troubleshoot well performance issues.
- Check well pair data quality to ensure accurate instrumentation and testing data collection.
- Build production, downtime, and workover dashboards in Tableau to assist with data review.
- Help production engineers with daily tasks and requirements.
- Conduct project reviews and lookbacks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a university co-op or internship program in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
- Ability to adapt to different personalities and work well in a team.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated approach to your work.

- Term: Winter 2027 or Summer 2027 start dates.
- Duration: 12 or 16 months.
