About the role#
This is a 16 month co-op opportunity supporting the Operations Engineering team. You will work on projects related to the design, maintenance, upgrade, and retirement of liquid pipelines and facilities. You will assist engineers with capital, expense, and ARO projects while gaining experience in project management and field operations.
What you'll do#
- Support project managers by completing assigned tasks and documentation.
- Prepare project scopes, designs, economic analysis, and cost estimates.
- Draft regulatory applications and notifications.
- Create detailed design specifications and drawing packages.
- Develop procedures for the safe execution of work.
- Work with supply chain management to procure necessary materials and services.
- Conduct field visits for site inspections, project scoping, and commissioning support.
- Monitor project schedules, track costs, and update forecasts.
- Review quality control packages for accuracy after construction.
- Research and summarize codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical support for operational issues.
- Coordinate efforts between internal departments, consultants, and contractors.
- Plan work in accordance with company HSE policies and engineering standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering program.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate with both office and field staff.
- A valid Class 5 driver license and acceptable driver abstract are considered assets.
