About the role#
As a Project Controls Student, you will join the Oil Sands Estimating team at the Calgary head office. You will assist in supporting asset life cycle cost data management for Downstream and Upstream Oil Sand major facilities. You will report to the Manager of Estimating and work on cost estimation, database development, and benchmarking.
What you'll do#
- Perform data analysis and normalization.
- Develop and organize databases.
- Conduct probability and statistical analysis.
- Create key metrics for conceptual estimating and benchmarking.
- Analyze labor productivity.
- Maintain estimating tools and templates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Construction Management program is preferred, though students in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Data Science are also considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- A solid grasp of statistics and analytical skills.
- An understanding of cost data analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without restrictions.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta.
- Work modality: On-site, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Terms: Summer 2026 or Fall 2026.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
