About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within a mid-office function supporting commercial trading and marketing operations. You will support daily validation and reporting tasks while gaining insight into energy markets, risk monitoring, and commercial operations. The role involves working with experienced professionals to apply academic knowledge to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Support daily validation and reporting activities for the commercial trading and marketing organization.
- Monitor and analyze market, trading, and operational data.
- Assist with data management, reporting, and analytical activities.
- Prepare and maintain recurring reports and business metrics.
- Work with stakeholders to investigate and resolve data discrepancies.
- Develop a working knowledge of natural gas and power market fundamentals.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to data quality, reporting, and analytics.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an Economics, Business, Commerce, Mathematics, or related degree program.
- Completion of at least one academic term before May 2027.
- Returning to full-time studies immediately following the work term.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week.
- Experience interpreting or modifying SQL, Python, or R code.
- Experience working with large data sets, analytics, or reporting.
- Interest in energy markets, quantitative analysis, or commercial operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to building professional relationships.
- Ability to analyze information accurately and manage ambiguity.
- A safety mindset in both professional and personal settings.
