About the role#
TC Energy is seeking a legal intern to support professionals working on natural gas pipeline operations and infrastructure. You will work on project development, transactional matters, and regulatory frameworks. This role provides practical experience in legal research, regulatory analysis, and the preparation of advice for business clients.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research on project development, transactional, environmental, and pipeline safety matters.
- Analyze legal and regulatory issues within the natural gas transportation industry.
- Support work involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and other regulatory frameworks.
- Prepare legal analyses, summaries, and advice for business clients.
- Collaborate with legal professionals on active projects and business initiatives.
- Review and evaluate legal and regulatory information to support decision-making.
- Assist with the development of legal guidance and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Juris Doctor degree program.
- Completion of at least one academic term prior to May 2027.
- Completion of the second year of law school prior to May 2027.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the term.
- Must return to full-time studies immediately following the work term.
- Prior experience with the natural gas transportation industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulations, environmental law, or pipeline safety law.
- Strong interpersonal, communicative, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze information, deal with ambiguity, and multi-task effectively.
- Commitment to safety, corporate values, and continuous personal development.
