About the role#
We are looking for a student intern to support field operations for our natural gas transportation systems. You will work alongside experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience with compression equipment and maintenance procedures. This role is based in Clendenin, West Virginia, and runs from May 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of natural gas compressors and related equipment.
- Learn and apply safety protocols for all field work.
- Participate in site visits, equipment inspections, and project activities under direct supervision.
- Use field tools and follow operational procedures to develop your technical and problem-solving skills.
- Support field operations while demonstrating company values like safety and personal accountability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Mechanical, Chemical, Pipeline, Automation, or related technical program.
- Completion of at least one academic term before May 2027.
- Commitment to return to full-time studies immediately after the work term.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the summer.
- Exposure to mechanical equipment maintenance or field operations through coursework or projects.
- Knowledge of natural gas compression systems or industrial equipment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze information and handle changing priorities.
- A safety-focused mindset and a commitment to personal development.
Location & details#
- Location: Clendenin, West Virginia.
- Work Term: May 2027 to August 2027.
- Status: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid internship.
- Requirements: Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing. This position is eligible for our student relocation assistance program.
