About the role#
As a Data Science Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in data analysis, machine learning, and analytical modeling. You will work within a collaborative team to support our mission of delivering technology solutions. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets for analysis.
- Work with data scientists and engineers to build machine learning models and analytical solutions.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to find trends, patterns, and insights that guide business strategies.
- Document your methods and results to ensure clarity for the team.
- Attend team meetings to present your findings and help solve problems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Python and data manipulation libraries like Pandas or NumPy.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and frameworks such as Scikit-learn or TensorFlow.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to learn.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Experience with VR, AR, or XR development is a plus.
- Exposure to data visualization tools like Tableau, Matplotlib, or ParaView is helpful.
- Interest in microcontroller or ladder logic programming, sensors, instrumentation, controls, and manufacturing.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Lynchburg, Virginia.
- The pay rate for this role is between $23.43 and $32.84 per hour, depending on market factors and business considerations.
- Housing stipends are available for those who meet eligibility requirements.
