About the role#
As an Environmental Specialist Intern, you will support safety and environmental monitoring efforts within a nuclear environment. This is a paid, rolling internship that offers the chance to work alongside experts on projects related to nuclear innovation.
What you'll do#
- Develop safety and environmental monitoring solutions.
- Review analytical data to ensure it is complete and correct.
- Perform calculations and statistical analyses to support data evaluation.
- Assist in the preparation of work plans, procedures, reports, and other documentation.
- Help with sample analyses using field analytical equipment.
- Maintain sampling equipment and manage the inventory of sampling supplies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. degree program in a technical discipline, with a preference for Chemistry, Environmental Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship is required, with no dual citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance, which includes a background investigation.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Erwin, Tennessee.
- The role is full-time.
- Compensation is between $19.57 and $25.59 per hour.
- A housing stipend is available for interns living more than 50 miles from the work site.
