About the role#
This internship focuses on the intersection of machine learning and digital signal processing. You will work alongside engineers to address challenges in Radio Frequency Machine Learning. This is a full-time position for Summer 2027 based in Herndon, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Build real-time machine learning systems that process streaming RF data.
- Create algorithms for GPU-accelerated digital signal analysis in communication and radar domains.
- Use Python for signal processing tasks like filtering, spectral analysis, and waveform generation.
- Integrate your code into real systems to test performance.
- Deploy tools using modern DevOps and MLOps practices.
- Collaborate with developers on data pipelines, model training, and troubleshooting.
What you'll need#
- United States citizenship is required for security clearance purposes.
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with Git and command line tools.
- Interest in signal processing and machine learning applications like RF, audio, or computer vision.
- A desire to pursue a career in the defense and intelligence sectors.
- Experience delivering technical presentations.
- Willingness to undergo a background investigation for a US government security clearance.
- Bonus points for candidates who hold an active Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret/SCI clearance.
