About the role#
Expedition Technology is hiring an AI/Machine Learning and Computer Vision intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Herndon, Virginia. You will work on applied research and development programs, collaborating with the US Department of Defense and Intelligence Communities to address complex technical challenges.
What you'll do#
- Build and train machine learning models using Python.
- Design new algorithms for digital signal processing or computer vision.
- Manage data processing pipelines and train ML systems.
- Analyze project outcomes.
- Solve real-world technical problems alongside our team.
What you'll need#
- United States citizenship.
- An active US Government-issued Secret clearance or higher.
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field.
- You must be entering the final year of your undergraduate or graduate program with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages, specifically Python.
- Experience with the command line and version control tools like Git.
- A clear interest in machine learning and a desire to work in the defense or intelligence sectors after graduation.
Location & details#
- Location: On-site in Herndon, VA.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $35 per hour.
