About the role#
The Advanced Technologies group at BWXT is seeking a Mechanical Analysis Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Lynchburg, Virginia, to support the team in developing and implementing engineering solutions for nuclear environments.
What you'll do#
- Develop and deliver engineering solutions for nuclear applications.
- Create and update technical drawings and procedures.
- Assist with the design, testing, and examination of materials.
- Participate in project management tasks and material procurement.
- Develop and present final reports on your work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Physics, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located in Lynchburg, Virginia.
- The pay range for this position is $25.05 to $31.83 per hour.
- The role is on-site and includes access to a 401k thrift plan, with internship time counting toward vesting requirements.
- A housing stipend is available for students who meet eligibility requirements.
