About the role#
This internship takes place at the Whiting refinery in northwest Indiana. As a Process Engineer intern, you will work on projects that support the reliability of refining technologies. You will gain experience at a facility that processes approximately 440,000 barrels of crude oil daily. This 12-week program allows you to build technical knowledge while working alongside engineering teams.
What you'll do#
- Directly interface with Operations to support key production assets.
- Apply chemical engineering fundamentals including heat transfer, hydraulics, and separation.
- Provide technical support on projects to improve safety, reliability, commercial outcomes, or environmental aspects.
- Design projects and supervise plant development to ensure the reliability of refining technologies.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Availability to start the 12-week program on either May 17, 2027, or June 14, 2027.
