About the role#
We are hiring Chemical Engineering students for the Strathcona Refinery in Edmonton. You will work alongside staff engineers to support the safe, reliable, and profitable operation of our process units. This position provides exposure to petrochemical refining, process safety, unit optimization, and process controls. You will be part of the Product Solutions department and may support various manufacturing teams, environmental, supply and logistics, or process control groups.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with operations, reliability, process technical, and automation engineers to support unit operations.
- Work within cross-functional teams to identify, develop, and implement facility improvements.
- Focus on safety, reliability, economics, and sustainability in your daily tasks.
- Communicate the status of unit operations, improvement opportunities, and operating costs to stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program for Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ability to start a work term in January or May 2027.
- Intent to return to full-time studies following the work term.
- Strong academic performance and demonstrated leadership skills.
- Commitment to safety in all environments.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Submission of your most recent unofficial transcript.
