    About the role#

    As a Co-Op Operator, you are responsible for the safe and efficient performance of work required to operate processing units and related facilities. You will work on-site in Beaumont, Texas, during the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time position that requires working 12-hour rotating shifts, including potential overtime.

    What you'll do#

    • Monitor the startup and shutdown of processing units and systems like pumps, furnaces, and compressors.
    • Inspect equipment and work areas using your senses to identify leaks, vibration, overheating, or other issues.
    • Collect and record data such as temperature, pressure, level, and flow rates from gauges and dials.
    • Communicate with the console supervisor to stay informed on process conditions and report changes.
    • Perform basic equipment maintenance, such as adding lubricants, changing filters, or tightening valve packing, under the guidance of a qualified operator.
    • Adjust local process parameters and equipment to maintain product specifications.
    • Inspect safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, hoses, and breathing apparatus.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be a current student at Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College - Orange, or Lamar State College - Port Arthur.
    • Completion of a 2-year Process Operator degree or equivalent experience.
    • A basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite tools.
    • Ability to complete the required Operations and Mechanical pre-employment assessment by the specified deadline.
