About the role#
Marathon Petroleum Corporation offers internship and co-op opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in the midstream energy sector. You will work alongside experienced professionals on diverse teams to support Natural Gas and NGL Services operations. This is a paid, full-time position for the Fall 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Support project scope development, including estimating, scheduling, design, contractor engagement, and construction oversight.
- Assist with DOT-regulated pipeline integrity and maintenance programs.
- Conduct field work at pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, gas processing plants, and related facilities.
- Contribute to midstream initiatives such as automation and controls, electrical engineering, process optimization, reliability engineering, corrosion, and measurement services.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, Natural Gas, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong academic performance.
- Ability to work on-site for 40 hours per week.
- A valid driver's license for work-related travel.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Authorization to work in the United States, with company sponsorship available.
- Preference for candidates available for multiple work terms.
