About the role#
This is a 3-4 month, full-time, paid internship reporting to the Process & Contact Engineering and Lab teams. You will work on-site at our facilities in Morris or Channahon, Illinois. This role provides hands-on experience in plant operations and engineering support. You will be paired with experienced professionals who provide mentorship throughout the term.
What you'll do#
- Support process and contact engineers and the lab team with daily activities.
- Perform process-related engineering work, including documentation, coordination, and follow-up.
- Run samples on gas chromatographs and calibrate laboratory instruments.
- Assist with equipment checks while following safety and quality practices.
- Document sample results, observations, and routine activities.
- Collaborate with plant, engineering, and lab teams on troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Support our safety culture by following all Life Saving Rules.
- Complete a final learning project and deliver a presentation to summarize your work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary STEM program, specifically Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- You must be returning to school in the fall after the internship ends.
- Ability to commit to the full 3-4 month contract term.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
