About the role#
Marathon Petroleum Corporation provides internship and co-op opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in the midstream natural gas and NGL services sector. You will work alongside experienced professionals as a contributing member of a team. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Develop project scopes, including estimating, scheduling, design, contractor engagement, and construction oversight.
- Support DOT-regulated pipeline integrity and maintenance programs.
- Perform field work at pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, gas processing plants, and related facilities.
- Assist with midstream initiatives such as automation, electrical engineering, process engineering, process optimization, project engineering, operations engineering, reliability engineering, pipeline integrity, corrosion, and measurement services.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, Natural Gas, or Electrical Engineering.
- Enrollment in a degree-seeking program for the duration of the experience.
- Strong academic performance.
- Ability to work on-site 40 hours per week.
- A valid driver's license for work-related travel and reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Authorization to work in the United States, including those requiring employer sponsorship.
- Availability for multiple work terms is preferred.
