About the role#
A Supplier Engineer provides leadership and project management to drive the onboarding of components for manufacturing plants across the globe. You will work independently and interact cross-functionally to execute deliverables according to business needs while maintaining a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
What you'll do#
- Build partnerships and ensure quality and regulatory compliance by working with suppliers to plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work.
- Identify and lead Value Improvement Projects (VIPs) and cost optimizations within the supply chain.
- Partner with PMOs to support supplier engineering action items.
- Execute plans to support supply chain objectives, including risk mitigation and material VIPs.
- Lead or participate in project teams to qualify and improve supplier processes.
- Drive troubleshooting processes and problem-solving methodologies at supplier facilities.
- Support other supplier engineers with acquisition or sustaining projects, such as qualification and supplier change assessments.
- Maintain compliance with the Quality Policy and documented quality procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Ability to commit to a full internship period of either May 17th - August 6th or May 24th - August 13th.
- Engineering experience in manufacturing, supplier engineering, or quality in a professional setting.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Arden Hills, MN location.
- Preferred: Experience with suppliers, supply chain management, or regulated industries.
- Preferred: Understanding of statistical methods, six sigma, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Preferred: Experience reading design drawings and GD&T, plus project management experience.
- Self-driven and motivated mindset.
