About the role#
Boston Scientific is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join the Equipment Engineering Group in Maple Grove, Minnesota. This position offers hands-on experience designing and implementing custom software solutions for medical device manufacturing. You will work with experienced engineers on industrial robotics, electro-mechanical systems, and hardware integration projects.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop software applications.
- Design, code, and test PC-based interfaces for hardware.
- Build applications using C#, WPF, VB.NET, or Java within the .NET Framework or .NET Core environment.
- Maintain and update electrical schematics and documentation for manufacturing systems.
- Troubleshoot software and electrical issues on the production floor.
- Design scalable systems with a focus on long-term maintainability.
- Manage code using version control tools like Git or TFS.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for equipment performance and reliability.
What you'll need#
- Current rising junior or rising senior pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Programming experience in C#, WPF, VB.NET, or Java.
- Familiarity with .NET Framework or .NET Core.
- Experience using Visual Studio as a primary development environment.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git or TFS.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- Medical Device industry experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Maple Grove, MN.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks).
- Start Date: Must be able to start on May 17th or 24th, 2027.
- Modality: On-site, 5 days per week.
- Requirements: Must have reliable transportation to and from work. This is a paid, full-time internship. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
