About the role#
This R&D Engineering internship provides exposure to the product development cycle within a Fortune 500 medical device company. You will work within the Interventional Oncology and Embolization division to support the design and testing of technologies intended to improve patient outcomes. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Design and prototype new medical devices based on clinical feedback.
- Develop and implement test methods for in vitro device evaluation.
- Assist product development teams with device testing and development tasks.
- Research clinical and market data to identify new opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and build your professional network.
- Participate in training and mentorship to grow your engineering skillset.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
- Expected graduation date between Fall 2028 and Spring 2029.
- Ability to commit to one of two program periods: May 17th - August 6th or May 24th - August 13th.
- Experience with single use devices or implants.
- Strong communication skills for working within diverse teams.
- A desire to learn new technologies and solve technical problems.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.

- Location: Maple Grove, MN (Arbor Lakes corporate office).
- Work Modality: On-site, five days per week.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Transportation: You must have reliable transportation to the office.
- Safety: This role is designated as safety-sensitive and requires a prohibited substance test.
