About the role#
The Process Engineering Associate provides input on product design and manufacturability during concept and commercialization phases. You will participate in continuous improvement initiatives while scaling up existing manufacturing processes. This is a 12-month placement beginning in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Draft 3D prototypes in SolidWorks and build devices to ensure they meet requirements.
- Coordinate testing and assist engineers with the execution of process characterization.
- Lead LEAN initiatives to improve manufacturing processes.
- Prepare technical documentation including drawings, work instructions, and training materials for new tools.
- Design test methods or follow standard protocols to meet patient needs.
- Monitor safety practices to ensure ISO 13485 and FDA compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product timelines and maintain quality procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering degree or a recent Bachelor's degree graduate in Engineering.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma or LEAN methodologies.
- Experience with SolidWorks and Minitab.
- Background in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong interest in biomedical technology.
- Ability to work independently and with diverse groups of engineers and clinicians.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A hands-on approach and a positive attitude.
Location & details#
- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Work model: On-site, five days per week.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
