About the role#
BorgWarner is looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineering Intern to join our team in Kokomo for the Summer 2027 program. You will work with our Proto operations group to develop manufacturing processes for power electronics. This role involves building early units and defining the associated production processes.
What you'll do#
- Design fixtures and methods for power electronics assemblies.
- Run process studies to prove capabilities for tasks like adhesive dispensing and screwdriving.
- Support machine qualification for series manufacturing equipment.
- Develop leak test programs and conduct measurement system evaluations.
- Collaborate with the product design team on design for manufacturability issues.
- Assist in developing new process technologies, including the automation of assembly steps.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or graduation from an accredited college or university.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Knowledge of electronics and mechanical assembly equipment operations.
- Experience with CAD tools such as Solidworks or NX.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and 3D printing tools.
- Strong communication skills.
