    About the role#

    BorgWarner is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Co-op to join the Engine Solenoids team at the Propulsion Technical Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This role runs from January 2027 through August 2027. You will work 40 hours per week on-site.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the design, development, and validation of new products.
    • Help product engineers with prototype builds, including documentation and data processing.
    • Develop tooling for assembly, performance, and validation testing, either independently or with CAD designers.
    • Research competitor products to gather benchmarking data on performance, design, and manufacturing strategy, and summarize findings in reports.
    • Assist test engineers with test plan management, durability test setups, and report writing.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited college or university.
    • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
    • Familiarity with CAD/CAE software is preferred.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan.
    • Modality: On-site, with a requirement to be at the campus at least 3 days per week.
    • Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
    • Status: Paid, full-time position.
    • Note: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, as this position does not provide visa sponsorship.
