About the role#
The Rapid Prototype Center serves as a hands-on innovation hub that bridges digital design with physical hardware. As a Prototype Engineer Intern, you will work directly with engineering teams to test, refine, and build models for future products. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based on-site in Plantation, Florida.
What you'll do#
- Develop models for future products in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Gain hands-on experience with 3D printing technologies.
- Learn technical skills including 3D CAD modeling, CNC machining, and laser cutting.
- Develop project management abilities and learn spray finishing techniques.
- Work on a variety of projects ranging from initial part concepts to reworking existing products.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use statistical tools and techniques to solve challenging problems.
- Experience with testing, planning, and implementing new methods.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with common office tools like Excel and Word.
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization.
