About the role#
The R&D Systems Intern works with the engineering team to design medical devices. You will support testing activities and produce technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle. This is a 6-month internship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Research, develop, and evaluate electrical and electro-mechanical materials, components, and assemblies.
- Conduct feasibility studies to verify product functionality.
- Develop new concepts from initial design through to market release.
- Coordinate project activities and direct support personnel.
- Maintain detailed documentation across all research and development phases.
- Improve processes using agile and lean principles to solve complex problems.
- Contribute to software and system risk assessments, including Design FMEA activities.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, biomedical, or computer engineering.
- At least 1 year of experience with product development in a regulated industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.

- Compensation: $34,000 to $57,900 CAD.
