About the role#
This Veterinary Technician Externship offers the opportunity to complete required clinical hours in a state-of-the-art veterinary clinic. The program is designed to provide exposure to a variety of cases while offering mentorship and hands-on experience in both primary and urgent care settings. Externs will work alongside veterinarians and credentialed staff to develop clinical skills and gain insight into modern veterinary practice.
What you'll do#
- Focus on patient care with support from veterinary assistants and remote nurse teams.
- Work side by side with veterinarians to provide high-quality patient care.
- Participate in surgery and dental procedures.
- Educate pet parents during visits.
- Use innovative medical equipment and clinic tools.
- Attend internal educational events provided by the Medical Operations Team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited veterinary technician or veterinary nursing program.
- Enrollment in a course that requires externship hours or specific clinical skills.
- Independent, unrestricted valid authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer.
