About the role#
We are looking for undergraduate students to join the laboratory of Professor Andrew Steele in the Department of Biological Sciences. This position provides hands-on training and practical experience within a research environment.
What you'll do#
- Produce and characterize adeno-associated viruses in lab mice.
- Perform tissue sectioning, antibody labeling, and confocal microscopy.
- Assist with mouse behavioral and feeding studies as needed.
- Prepare laboratory solutions and handle basic maintenance and restocking tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS program for Biology or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A dependable and responsible approach to lab work.
- Previous experience with mouse handling, tissue sectioning, or staining is preferred.
