About the role#
The Ag Operations General Labor position supports the daily tasks of the Cal Poly Pomona Student Farm. You will perform general farm labor activities essential to the production and maintenance of crops. This is a part-time, seasonal role that requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
What you'll do#
- Assist with field preparation tasks like transplanting, thinning, and hoeing.
- Install, maintain, and remove drip tape irrigation systems.
- Support the team with harvesting and packing produce.
- Keep the work environment clean and organized.
- Follow all food and worker safety policies.
- Adhere to assigned schedules while maintaining punctuality.
What you'll need#
- Ability to perform physical labor, including bending, standing, and lifting up to 25lbs.
- Willingness to work in outdoor agricultural environments.
- Ability to follow directions and work well with a team.
- A dependable and self-motivated work ethic.
- Previous farm or field experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be approved to work in the United States.
