About the role#
The Animal Science department is hiring a Lab Assistant to support operations in the Animal Science building. This position provides hands-on experience in laboratory safety, equipment maintenance, and research support. It is a paid, part-time role suited for students in Biology, Agriculture, or Biomedical Sciences who are looking to gain experience in animal, meat, or food science.
What you'll do#
- Maintain cleanliness within departmental labs.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is kept in good working order.
- Support research projects as needed.
- Assist with various departmental projects and additional tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the University of Wyoming.
- Eligibility for a work study award, with the award already received and accepted through Student Financial Aid.
- Prior lab experience is preferred.
- A reliable and responsible approach to your work schedule.

- Location: Laramie, Wyoming.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site position located at the Animal Science building.
- Compensation: $14.00 per hour.
