About the role#
The Biology Department in Pleasantville is hiring student lab technicians to support undergraduate lab experiments. This position involves direct technical assistance with experimental preparations and procedures. You will work on-site with a schedule determined by your supervisor.
What you'll do#
- Prepare materials for undergraduate labs, such as solutions, microbiology media, dissection specimens, and electrophoresis equipment.
- Conduct inventories of chemicals, IT equipment, lab supplies, anatomy models, and instruments.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain standard laboratory instrumentation.
- Maintain lab records to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including organizing prep rooms and classrooms, washing glassware, and managing micro-waste.
- Complete mandatory lab safety training provided by the department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the university.
- Major in Biology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Chemical Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nursing, or Health Science.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
