About the role#
The Pace Perk Student Assistant position is an on-site role at the Pace Perk Cafe located on the Pleasantville campus. This is a paid, part-time opportunity for students to gain experience in food service and business operations. The cafe operates nightly from 9 pm to 1 am.
What you'll do#
- Prepare food items including milkshakes and sandwiches.
- Cook frozen food using Turbo Chef ovens.
- Process customer orders and handle payments at the cash register.
- Take on managerial responsibilities in areas such as purchasing, HR, marketing, and accounting as you progress in the role.
- Complete the SERVSAFE food safety training course provided on campus.
What you'll need#
- You must be a full-time student taking in-person business classes at the Pace Pleasantville campus.
- You need a declared major or minor in business.
- You must be available to work late night shifts.
- You are expected to be reliable, responsible, and patient with customers.
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills are necessary for this role.
Location & details#
- Location: Pleasantville, New York.
- Schedule: Most employees work two 3-hour shifts per week. All new hires must work at least one weekend shift and one late shift. Total hours will not exceed 20 hours per week during the school session or 35 hours during breaks.
- Modality: This is an on-site position.
