About the role#
Pace Mart Associates operate the convenience store located in the Mortola Library on the Pleasantville campus. This is a student-run business where associates manage daily operations. Some associates may be promoted to manager roles. You will work two to four shifts per week, with each shift lasting two to three hours. During the school year, you will work no more than 20 hours per week, increasing to 35 hours during breaks.
What you'll do#
- Open and close the store.
- Serve customers and manage the store alone.
- Operate the cash register and credit card machine.
- Stock, merchandise, and clean the store.
- Perform managerial functions including accounting, marketing, HR, and purchasing.
- Make coffee and handle general store maintenance.
What you'll need#
- Full-time student status at Pace University.
- Enrollment in in-person business classes on the Pleasantville campus.
- Declared major or minor in a business discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and solve issues as they arise.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable and patient demeanor when working with visitors.
