Veterinary Technician Externship

About the role#

This externship offers students the opportunity to gain clinical experience in a state-of-the-art veterinary clinic. You will work within a supportive environment designed to help you develop your medical knowledge and clinical skills while completing your required externship hours. The program focuses on mentorship and exposure to a variety of primary and urgent care cases.

What you'll do#

• Focus on patient care with the support of veterinary assistants and a remote nurse team.
• Work side by side with veterinarians to provide high-quality patient care.
• Participate in surgery and dental procedures.
• Shadow appointments with credentialed veterinary technicians.
• Educate pet parents about their pets' health.
• Use new medical equipment and clinic tools.
• Attend internal educational events provided by the Medical Operations Team.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited veterinary technician or veterinary nursing program.
• Must be in a class that requires externship hours or specific skill development.
• A strong interest in developing veterinary skills.

• Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
• Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: $15-$17 per hour, depending on university policy.
• Term: Rolling.
