About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a Student Assistant to support the Communications Division High-Cost Support and Surcharge Unit. This role provides hands-on experience in the public sector by assisting with telecommunications compliance, program operations, and policy research. The position is part-time, temporary, and non-benefited.
What you'll do#
- Manage inbound email communications and respond to stakeholder inquiries.
- Process account updates, including new accounts, contact changes, and closures.
- Conduct research on telecommunications regulations, statutes, and policy issues.
- Identify carrier non-compliance and report data anomalies.
- Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements through special projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution in Public Health, Economics, Business Administration, Communications, Accounting, Finance, or Political Science.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must reside in California throughout the course of employment.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Modality: Hybrid, with eligibility to telework multiple days per week.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday, up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Compensation: $19.25 to $26.25 per hour.
