About the role#
The College of Engineering and Computer Science is hiring a graduate student assistant to provide career support to students and alumni. You will work under the supervision of the Internship and Career Services Director. This is an internal position for current Sacramento State students.
What you'll do#
- Provide in-person and virtual career services to students and alumni.
- Conduct intake interviews to understand the needs of visitors.
- Critique resumes, cover letters, and other job search documents.
- Coach students on interview preparation, job fairs, and salary negotiation.
- Give presentations about office programs and career development topics.
- Assist with outreach, special events, and workshops.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a graduate student at Sacramento State with at least four semester units.
- Good academic and judicial standing with the university.
- Availability for at least 16 hours per week between 9:00am and 4:00pm.
- Ability to attend training one week before the Fall semester starts in August.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize complex information.
- Preference for students in Psychology or related counseling and leadership programs.

- Work is performed on-site.
- This position is part-time and paid at $17.00 per hour.
