About the role#
The Children's Literacy Student Worker supports the Taft College Child Development Center and the main campus. This is a paid, part-time position for students interested in fields like Public Health or Psychology. The role involves physical tasks to maintain and organize the center's facilities.
What you'll do#
- Move storage shelves between buildings and transport boxes of stored items.
- Assemble new equipment including cribs, desks, and tricycles.
- Shampoo children's carpets that have been stored.
- Discard trash and broken materials.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Taft College in at least 6 units.
- A minimum GPA of 2.0 and current good standing with the college.
- Valid training certificates including Child Care Mandated Reporter, Annual Pesticide Notification, and Basic Pest Control Management.
- Required health documentation including TB test results, immunization records (MMR, Pertussis, Influenza), and a Statement of Good Health.
- Signed Quality Assurance and Confidentiality Agreements.

- Terms: Fall 2026 and Winter 2027.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible shifts available Monday through Friday between 7am and 4pm.
