About the role#
Student Mentors act as guides for high school sophomores and juniors in the VU Mentorship Program. You will help students explore career paths, set goals, and prepare for college. This role requires a commitment for the full academic year.
What you'll do#
- Complete the PREPP Approach mentor training and refresher sessions.
- Conduct monthly mentoring sessions at partner high schools.
- Guide mentees through the PREPP stages: Plan, Research, Evaluate, Prepare, and Place.
- Help students identify their academic, career, and postsecondary goals.
- Maintain documentation and track student progress.
- Attend check-ins, feedback sessions, and program events.
- Represent the university at partner high schools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Vincennes University with good academic standing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stay organized and dependable.
- Interest in leadership, service, education, or community engagement.
- Willingness to travel to local high schools.
- Majors in Psychology, Communications, Sociology, or Business Administration are preferred.

- Work is on-site.
- This is a part-time, paid role with rolling availability.
